Consiglio del giorno che ti può essere utile:
This post inspired by this post in which a lot of people seemed to be having the same issues I was.
Basically I sleep like that picture shows, propping myself up with my elbow, putting pressure on it with the mattress all night every night. (In addition to putting pressure on it on the car door while driving, at my desk, etc.) I would increasingly-often wake up to a numb hand. This would go away after so long… Until one day it didn't, and half my hand (pinky finger, half my ring finger, and that part of my palm) was just tingly/numb all the time.
I then proceeded to ignore it for months as it got worse and worse, and eventually started to lose strength. At that point I went to an orthopedic surgeon. After a few not-super-fun tests, he confirmed I had a very severe case of cubital tunnel syndrome and would require surgery.
The surgery was actually super easy and I recovered very quickly, but obviously I'd have rather tried to prevent it.
So if you sleep with pressur on your elbows, or especially if you wake up to numbness sometimes, please pay attention to it and try to fix your habits. Or at least go to a doctor if it gets worse. My surgeon said if it was a less-severe case, we could've tried braces and stretches and things like that first.
No idea how common of a problem this is, but I hope my post can help someone not go under the knife!
