If they’re a family member or a friend, tell them what they mean to you. A compliment about how they look or dress will last a day or two. But letting them know how much you value them as a person in your life is something they’ll think of for a long time.
“I’ll be your partner” when you look around for a fucking partner when you don’t know anyone in class
While working at GameStop from 2012 to 2015 as an ASM I had this 20 something African foreigner tell me, “You really are trying to help me but your a real asshole about it.”
He was trying to buy NBA Live instead of NBA 2k for Xbox One. Not even giving a shit about sports I knew NBA Live was absolute dog shit and he’d bring it back and not been able to return it because its new. While 2k is consistently the standard for everyone.
When he acknowledge I cared while calling me an asshole, it just made my week.
A good compliment is specific and sincere (and socially appropriate). Anything general enough to be a relatable MassimoL comment probably won’t cut it.
“You deserve sunshine through your window. I hope it comes your way soon.”
