Well most anime/movies/game communities can be really toxic even if target audience is supposed to be kids. (Great Avatar ships war flashbacks)

People who played Warframe a few years back would be surprised at how toxic Warframe’s community has become, because that went from being legitimately a chill community, to this current raging dumpster fire of hate to everyone that doesn’t share your exclusive idea of what Warframe should be. It went from a ‘We’ community to a ‘Me’ community.
some LGBT communities. I’m not trying to say anything negative about the LGBT movement and support systems as a whole, as a member of the community I think it’s great. However there are certainly plenty of people in the LGBT community who believe there are “right ways” to be and “Wrong ways” to be, which somewhat defeats the purpose of the acceptance.
Out of just the lesbian community I’ve seen stuff like “Gold Star lesbians are ‘more lesbian’ or something than non-gold star.” (gold star being never slept with a man). Another common one I’ve seen is the whole “Don’t trust any man they’re all rapists and just want your body” lesbians.
While they are certainly extreme views and a general majority don’t hold them, they’re still common enough that with little effort I could find someone who holds one of the two.
The LGBT community. For those that scream the loudest about acceptance, they truly like to look down upon, segregate, and bully those who aren’t pure Gay. For instance, If you’ve ever been in a hetero relationship, you aren’t pure. My cousin and his boyfriend experience this a lot in those circles.
