Everything is exactly as you left it. All the time.
It was hard to adjust after living with roommates for years, but it is so so nice to come home and just feel HOME. You don’t have to be considerate, you don’t have to be polite or happy or anything. It’s your space. You can listen/watch/read whatever, wearing whatever, cooking whatever, no more fighting over anything. I had to put more effort into socializing, since it didn’t come naturally via roommates, and it can get lonely, especially when you’re sick. But with great friends who can drop by meds and comfort food you can deal.
