Half of all cops have college degrees in criminology. It seems like Norway requires all police to get one.
There are far, far bigger and more systemic issues than the training regimen
Roughly the same length as training for our armed forces, plenty enough to train them to save and take lifes why not the same for the police force?
The difference in time is about equivalent to the ratio of population and space between our countries.
I’m not even close to being surprised. Our system doesn’t value people. We value efficiency, and seeing how US police officers are generally going to apprehend the suspect one way or another, the people running things aren’t in any rush to fix things.
