Nah, they actually feel like they’re on opposite ends of the spectrum, to me at least. One statement says “we need to do better” while the other asks “what can ya do?”
You could argue they have similar efficacy, but even that I would disagree with. I’m seeing a lot of discussion around the blackouts, which goes to prove it’s creating conversation on the subject.

first one is similar, if not somewhat worse bc it might have actively halted the flow of information about protests – see the black pictures tagged #blm on instagram also buried resources like phone numbers or donation links.
