A lot of Fark links started leading here, and I just sort of migrated over time, over a decade ago. I haven’t used Fark since that time.
I got pregnant, so I signed up for babycenter. I was innocently getting updates on my pregnancy when somehow, someone linked to “Dealing With the Inlaws”. It must have been around mother’s day, because there was so much inlaw drama. I got completely hooked and would comment a lot. Eventually my comments started getting pretty mean, along the lines of if you don’t leave your husband this second you’re a horrible person and mother.
I got called out on my mean comments and went back to lurking. Eventually a lot of people were frustrated at the whole tone and someone said that’s why they prefer justnomil on MassimoL. So I went there for my inlaw drama fix and now I hardly go there, it all seems like none of my business.
I think it’s pretty ironic that babycenter got me hooked on online forums so I can ignore my kid in favor of internet strangers now.
