I was an A student. Type A personality that doesn’t allow me to do anything half way. Took a long time to understand that its not normal to be that way. I tried hard at everything even if I hated it.
I behaved but I’d get distracted a lot and was really bad with projects and assignments
Awful. I had a very contentious relationship with school.
Did what I had to to get low Bs in most of my classes, often had my head down and just listened to what was going on instead of paying attention visually. I make sure to check in with kids who act like I did, but if they’re getting done what they need to I’m usually fine with this behavior.
Mediocre as an undergraduate student. Shaped up in graduate school, which is where I retreated after I discovered that my 2.7 GPA in liberal arts would land me – at best – a job as a sales clerk at Crazy Eddie’s.
That was the 1970’s. Now retired but teach as an adjunct at two local universities.
