He tweets too much.
I like that his being president has made some liberals move to the left. That’s about it.
I don’t think his handling of second amendment issues has been up to par. I’d hoped that he would reverse the trend of Republicans being weak on the issue, especially in response to mass shootings. Most gun owners feel like they’re giving away our rights an inch at a time, and Trump wasn’t any better on the issue. The bump stock ban was awful precedent and probably flagrantly unconstitutional.
I frankly don’t like listening to him talk. I totally get the quick asides he makes, because that’s how I talk and how most people I know IRL talk; it’s part of what attracted people to him because it “makes him sound real”. It’s at the very least obvious that he’s talking without running his shit through 12 different focus groups and speech writers. I just think he goes off on tangents too frequently; it feels like I need a TL;DR for every paragraph.
I think he’s been hypocritical on the golf thing; he got on Obama’s ass about spending a lot of time on the range, and then he turns around and does the same or more. I personally wouldn’t give a shit about any president’s golfing (that’s were deals are made, so the story goes), but since he made it an issue he’s got to lie in the bed he made.
I legitimately support Space Force. I prefer Space Corps, personally, But I support the idea. We need some kind of protection from outward, not necessarily extra-terrestrial (also yes) but terrestrial threats executed externally.
As a supporter, there are plenty of things that make me cringe, like how he says certain sentences and I think to myself, “that wouldn’t sound nearly as bad if you just worded it differently”. The other thing is the way he’s overly optimistic or overestimating the capacity for this country to do certain large scale things. (Not including the wall)
