I Don’t Trust Amazon Product Reviews Anymore. Any Recommendations for a Reliable Product Review Sights ?

Do you use apps such as Fakespot or ReviewMeta to check the veracity of Amazon reviews?

MassimoL’s a pretty good resource especially asking in specific genre subs. I could almost gurantee you that for any of your questions, there’s probably a sub that specializes in just what you’re looking for.

I stopped reading reviews long time ago when it was obvious that people were getting paid to post product reviews. Baring that, Consumer Reports is a fair indicator.

It’s mostly no name chinese products that have massive fake reviews, so one good strategy is to stick to known brands. The rule of thumb I have is that if the manufacturer doesn’t have a website, I’m not going to buy it unless it’s something cheap I don’t mind throwing away.

Of course, the other issue is that amazon is full of knockoffs so I’ve also been buying more items at local brick and mortar stores lately too.

Just copy/paste the item’s url into the camel camel camel site and see an instant price history. The pricing algorithms move pricing around A LOT more than I would’ve expected.

Seeing the pricing history and setting price alerts has saved me hundreds of dollars.

I still rely pretty heavily on Amazon reviews + fake spot. However enthusiast forums/subs focused around the relevant genre of interest are great places to find very detailed and accurate product reviews and comparisons.
