Questa volta abbiamo cercato una domanda rivolta alle donne.
What’s the story of your marriage proposal? What did you love about it? Would you change anything?
Ed ecco le risposte del genere femminile:
He had my parents pretend to invite us over to dinner. He was “running late” so he told me to just go to my parents’ house and he would meet me there. Turns out he was already there setting up. I knocked, got let in by my dad, and there he was in a suit(very rare attire) with flowers. The thing I love most is something he said in his proposal. He said “You talk about how this house holds so many wonderful memories for you so I wanted to hopefully add another wonderful memory to the collection and ask if you will marry me.” I wish I had dressed up a little more because the picture of us after I said yes is rough. He’s wearing a suit and I’m wearing jeans and a sweatshirt.
He showed up to my work with my dog. She had this big toy diamond ring tied to her collar and I said “what is that, a Christmas ornament?” And he said “I promised her she could have a bigger diamond than her mom”. I laughed and then was like oh wait what?! He got down on one knee and asked and I said yes. I then went to the back and said to my boss “uhhh… I just got engaged, can I go home?” I got to go home!
After sex. “Hey this isn’t official but will you marry me”
Then later in a rose garden when he had my ring he officially asked me. But the one in bed means the most
Sitting in the parking lot of a restaurant waiting for his family to catch up because we were all meeting up for a family dinner. We were playing on our phones and chatting a little as we listened to the playlist I’d made to occupy ourselves on the drive out there. A song came on that meant a lot to me because of my mom (who had long since passed away) and he hands over a little ring box.
I knew it was coming, because we’d talked about it. I opened the box with a little smile and, instead of a ring, there was a pin sitting in the box. The pin was a reference to an inside joke we had. After we laughed, he held out the actual ring and said “Okay, but actually, will you marry me?”
At the top of the Hatteras Lighthouse. I had a hunch it was coming, because he has NEVER been enthusiastic about going to the lighthouse, but that time he really wanted to go. It was extremely windy and we climbed to the top, the rangers said there would be a bit of a delay to go out on the viewing deck. He suggested we should wait a few minutes because that might change- and it did. We were out on the deck and he pointed to something in the distance and said “what’s that?” and while I was distracted trying to see what he was referring to, he got on one knee and was holding out the ring. He said he was holding onto it for dear life because it was so windy and he was terrified it was going to fall/roll off of the lighthouse and never be seen again 😂
Post-it note on the cat.
First marriage: he wouldn’t propose and we dated for years and lived together. When he finally did propose, I was working late and came home to him in the apartment door with a rose and a ring. We weren’t even married 2 years. He was mentally abusive and should’ve known but was too nieve.
My current husband took me on a long date day of eating at a fancy restaurant and a trip to the pumpkin patch. He had taken me there for our first real date and behind the pumpkin patch was a huge sunflower patch we got lost in. It was magical. We kept up the tradition and went to get our pumpkins. When we got to the sunflowers, he walked me out to a clearing and got down on one knee and proposed with his great aunts 80 year old family heirloom sapphire ring. It was even more magical. He put so much love and thought into it and was never a fight about when we would get married. We just… Did! Felt so right and perfect. We just had a baby together and will be taking him to the pumpkin patch this year to carry on the tradition lol.
My husband proposed on Christmas. He told me he had a present for me and gave me a box to open it was empty. Then said it was in the tree and I had to find it.
I played find the box and was stoked when I found and turned around like “ah ha! Got the present” and he was down on one knee with the ring, I had the box for it in my hands unbeknownst to me.
It was the day after Christmas and he asked me to come over. Once I get there, he wants to go walk on the beach. And I didn’t feel that I had the right shoes so I didn’t want to go. He’s pretty pushy about it and offers his flip flops.
We get to the beach and start walking around sunset and we come across this bottle in the sand. There’s a note inside that says “ Turn Around” and he’s down on one knee.
It was very sweet and his parents were there to take some pictures. So he looks nicely dressed and I’m wearing a tshirt, north face, jeans, and this man’s big flip flops. AT LEAST my nails were done. I did tell him I wanted them done for a proposal. I didn’t specify my outfit. Love that man.
Walking down the stairs of my house. He just picked up the ring earlier that day & couldn’t wait. I was happy then, but looking back he really did nothing special. And our marriage was nothing special either. We divorced 2 years later…lol
