All the fucking time. When I was in high school my dad used to tell me not to because people would think I was weird.
My best story is from when I was attending the Aspen Music Festival a couple summers ago. I was living in a dorm space with 2 other roommates. One night I was taking a shower and talking to myself. When I finished, one of my roommates asked me who I was talking to and I told her, myself. She then laughed and said that she had just sent me a bunch of texts that were really funny. I read them–she had thought I had a guy in there or something and wasn’t really okay with it since I hadn’t given her a heads-up xD
Sometimes when I play games by myself I’ll start narrating almost like I’m a YouTuber but without any enthusiasm, it’s something closer to a very coherent mumble about something I need to do or something I’m doing. I picked up this habit when I was little because I wanted to do YouTube, so I would talk while playing games as if I was recording, but over the years the habit has certainly gotten better.
