Well, my daughter’s dad hates all boyfriends now and to infinity of our 16yo. That’s why she doesn’t tell him anything. I know which ones she’s talked to. I’m also a teacher, so I have an inside track. I’ve been ok with the ones she’s liked. Right now, one of my former students is a tentative beau. Even though he’s 18, he’s VERY respectful in every situation I’ve witnessed and heard about the two years I knew him and now. I know his mom and what she expects. Even better, he knows I will kick his everloving ass if he acted up. I like that level of fear in respect. Doubly awesome, he’s off to college soon on a baseball scholarship.
My sister had one official boyfriend and a few guys which didn’t work out. The one I hated the most was a simp from my hockey team. He’s not a fair sportsman and always tackles people, bullies the goalkeeper, cheats, disrespects the opponents team and only keeps the ball for himself.
The one I liked the most was a good friend of mine. I still see him once in a while (this was 2 years ago). He would have been a good boyfriend, but my sister wasn’t the right one for him.
Her only official (ex) boyfriend was nice, just not someone to spend a lifetime with.

When my daughter was 15 she had a boyfriend and one Saturday my wife had to go out of town for the day, my daughter wanted to go to the movies with friends. I told her okay but be back at 5: 00 p.m. for dinner. She left and 5: 00 rolls around and she is nowhere to found and then 6: 00 rolled around and then 7: 00 finally my wife was able to figure out what apartment her boyfriend and his dad lived went there and got her, she was grounded for two weeks. Then one day I had to work late and called home to tell my son and daughter to let them know I was running late. My son answered and I told him and told him to tell my daughter too. He said “she’s not here” I asked where the hell she was and he didn’t know. I got home and she still was not there. I drove to the boyfriend’s apartment and his dad answered the door I asked if she was there and he said no they just left. I asked him if they were there without him being there and he said yes. This was definitely against our rules and she knew it. I told his dad my daughter was 15 and his son was 17 if I even suspected that they were intimate I would press charges against the son. I also told him that when I caught up with them his son would know exactly where I stood and I would not hurt him this time.I did catch up with them walking to our house and told my daughter to get her ass home when the boyfriend started to intervene, I turned to him and said what I told the father I also told him don’t make me break my promise not to hurt you just shut up and walk away. He was actually bigger than me and later told her he could have taken me and she told him “no he would have beaten the shit out of you.” and I would have. He later dropped out of high school and left the state. She got grounded for two months after that.
