For what it’s worth since the thread sucks there are plenty of YouTube videos of African American police officers sharing their experience and talking about what it’s like
Here is one I saw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uAPTWTmlc8Q
This comment will probably get downvoted to oblivion, but I’ll share my input nonetheless, because it’s honest. One of my good friends over the last 25 years is African American and a police officer. I’ve spoken with him about his experience and his thoughts. He is fed up with the protests. In his experience, police officers are doing their job — and a tough one at that. He hasn’t experienced the overwhelming story the media is trying to present of overzealous cops needlessly arresting black people or out to kill them. For what it is worth, he started out working in the 5th precinct in St. Louis (where the Michael Brown incident happened), and now he is a police officer in Los Angeles. He is also an incredible guy, and an avid skateboarder. Twice in the last year he’s posted photos of him giving boards to impoverished youth at the skateparks out in LA, and it’s not like he has a huge salary
I remember some post about a black cop who was abused at work, and some of his co-workers wouldn’t want to be in the same room as him, because he was going to report them. It was sad.
