Please don't try anything extreme, but when you expose yourself to mild cold weather, your body adjusts.
For instance, I walk around barefoot in shorts and a t-shirt a few times a day when the first 50 degree F (10 C) weather arrives, or I drive to work with the windows rolled down, and I feel comfortable wearing way less clothes than everyone else.
Notes
- If this sounds miserable to you, you don't have to do it! I enjoy it because it makes me feel like I've “leveled up” and I have more freedom to spend time outside. But it's not for everyone.
- Cold showers are great, too.
- Again, don't do anything extreme. Once you start to shiver a lot, you've probably pushed yourself far enough and should head inside.
