How has the pandemic changed your perspective on Dating apps? Have you come to realize anything due to this?

i like the idea but they still suck as an ugly dude
There needs to be a “dating” app for people that just want friends. I’m married, have kids and wouldn’t mind finding people to hang out with post pandemic.
The pandemic made me more willing to give dating apps another shot. Then I saw who they recommended, and I remembered why I keep deleting these apps. Apparently there are a lot of people who think alcohol counts as a personality, who don’t have any interests but their favorite TV show, or who can’t stop talking politics long enough to let me introduce myself. I’m sure there are worthwhile people out there, but at this point, I think I’ll just wait for the pandemic to end so I can find them in person.
I realized that even during a pandamic im still not atractive enough to get a match
I went through a breakup right before the pandemic, and usually for me that means I wait about a month or 2 and then get on dating apps but because of the pandemic and the fairly strict lockdowns in my country I decided to just wait it out and focus on my friendships.
From this, I ended up getting to know one of the people in my “corona friend circle” much better and found out that we both like eachother and we started dating, which kinda made me wonder how often something like that could have happened eariler if I hadn’t constantly been dating randos from Tinder. If anything, this has just taught me that dating websites are less necessary for me than I seem to think, and that just being patient and delaying gratification is almost always the more fufilling strategy.
